How to Make Your Lash Extensions Last Longer

Discover the secrets to extending the life of your beautiful lash extensions with my expert aftercare tips. A little care goes a long way!

How to Make Your Lash Extensions Last Longer

Want to keep your lashes looking luscious for as long as possible? Of course, you do! Proper aftercare is key to extending the life of your lash extensions. Here are my top tips from the pros.

1. Keep Them Dry (For the First 24-48 Hours)

This is the most crucial rule. The adhesive needs time to cure completely. Avoid any water, steam, sweat, and tears for the first day or two. That means no swimming, no saunas, and be careful when you shower!

2. Cleanse Them Gently

It might seem counterintuitive, but cleaning your lashes is essential. Use a gentle, oil-free lash cleanser and a soft brush specifically designed for extensions. Clean them a few times a week to remove oils and debris that can break down the adhesive.

3. Brush Daily

Gently brush your lashes with a clean spoolie wand every morning and after showering. This helps to detangle them and keep them perfectly fanned out.

4. Avoid Oil-Based Products

Oil is the enemy of lash adhesive. Check the ingredients on your makeup, makeup removers, and skin care products. Stick to oil-free options around the eye area.

5. Sleep on Your Back

If you can, try to sleep on your back to avoid rubbing your lashes against your pillow. If you're a side or stomach sleeper, consider investing in a silk or satin pillowcase, which is gentler on your extensions.

6. Don't Pick or Pull

Resist the urge to rub, pick, or pull at your extensions. This can damage both the extensions and your natural lashes. If an extension is bothering you, let your lash tech know.

7. Schedule Regular Fills

Your natural lashes shed, and so will your extensions. To keep your set looking full and fresh, book your fills every 2-3 weeks. This is the best way to maintain your beautiful look indefinitely.
